The talk was held at the Kenya High Commission and was be amply illustrated by slides. Some members of the Tanzanian Society also attended the talk.

Kevin Patience was a resident in East Africa for many years with a particular interest in the region's military and transport history. A commercial salvage diver by profession and author, he has led three trips to the Rufiji delta to see where this backwater action took place before publishing a book on this extraordinary naval saga; he is currently completing a new book on East African Shipwrecks 1498 - 2002.
